Journal #19 : Reaction - Baraka

The movie BARAKA shows us natural living in the world. Before I saw this movie I never thought about how this problem was serious and affect to many people. After I saw this movies, I could think about other side's ploblem such as poverty, war, and pollutions.

First, they show us about India's people. As many people know, India people can't kill and eat cow. Therfore, if people die from skip eating, they can't eat cow as their foods. It is weird to me, because I think any person is important that cow. However, in India, it is not.

secondly, we can see many kinds of beauty secen before industrialized. Actually, many process in the world can harm for everybody, but people can't recognize this thing. People only think about convienente life without pollution. It makes me sad.

Finally,I saw in this movie lots of poor labot working in factory. Compare with them and many people who are rich. It is un fair. One side, people suffer from lack of foods, the other side, people spent lots of foods and mone. I can't understand.

As I mentioned above all, we have many serious proplem, but people can't recognize this problem. Before I saw this movie I also never think about these problems. However , After I saw this movie I can concern about these kinds of problems.

In what ways do you feel you have progressed these last few months? What challenges still await you?

In the few months, I can learn a lot of things from class such as writing essay or speaking English. It is good for me anyway, and I never forget this memories. First of all, I could learn how to make essay. Actually, before I came here, I coudn't make any kinds of sentence. However, I can do it even though I still make mistakes in grammar. I am satisfy and I can compare before and now. Second thing is that I can speak English. Before I came here I coudn't speak English anyway. Now is not.
Even if I finish this semester, I still have challenges which I can have to done. I have to countinue studying English. Moreover, in the future, I have to pass the TOEFL. It is my the most important Challenge.

Thesis of this article is that I would like for the CEO or the powers that be to please give a good reason why the Water Company will not give good customer service the same as the phone companies and the Electric Power Board?.

Also, I can find in the article policy of claim, and the argument appealing is pathos (to emotion).
"The phone company and the electric company very willingly changed my due date, but the water company refuses to do so. They also charge a late charge if not paid on time." These sentences are evidencce that author uses to reach his conclusion. Author want to say people about this situation.

Ada,Calhoun. (2008, Aug 18). Giving birth at home.Time Magazine .

Why they do home birth? First of all is the cost. If they do to giving birth at home, they charge from 1000 to 5000 per birth. It is less than the cost of a hospital. Hospital needs much more money. Second thing is strage environment. Mother doesn't want to be watched by strangers while shie is giving birth. Some women feel uncomfortable when she giving birth surrounded by stranger.

journal #2: Getting around

Actually, I was shocked when I saw Orange County's transportation system. I don't have a car, so I have to take bus to go wherever I want go. Korea is very good at transportation system. If you don't have a car in Korea, you can't feel uncomportable,because you can go anywhere without car. However, here is horrible. Some bus come to bus station 1 time per one hour. People who don't have a car have to wait lond time for taking bus. Own car is nessesarity to everyperson in Orange county.
Moreover, bus drivers seem like that they are always late. I never seen they come just on time before. My country's buses are very crowded, but here is not. If I take a bus in here, I can sit on the chair during bus driving. It is one thing that here bus's advantage.

Hi. Nice to meet you guys. My name is Sunyoung Choi and I am from Seoul, South Korea.
I go to Ajou university in Korea amd my major is English language and literature. I have been 10months and I want to learn English. I have one brother. Before I come here, I lived with my parents, brother, and little dog. Now I live in homestay, and here is six people and two big dogs living together.I born 1987 and I am single. I hate any kinds of bees, bugs, and insects. After I go back my country, I am going to graduate my university. After I graduate my university, I hope that I attend masther degree in USA. For this thing, I have to study hard.
Now I am in Advanced level section 3 and I have lots of friends who are come from another countries in my class.I glad to meet my class mate, and I want to get along

Jounal#18:Reaction-Writing

I think that author couldn't forgot Lenore, so he try to forget her it is hard to him. Actually, after I read this poem, I feel like a little bit depressed. This poem describe death, so I frightened and horrified. Moreover, the author choose the raven not any other beautiful birds as title of poem, it also terrified because the raven is symbol of bad lucks.
In the poem, he don't want lose her, so he try to remember her. But the raven say "nevermore" so he have to give up her. Every his remembering and feeling is gone by the raven saying.
In additional, this time is night so it makes more scare and afraid us. Night and shadow can make feel more depress. I feel like I am in the dark.
In my opinion, people who suffer from melancholia shoudn't read this poem.

Journal #17: Anticipating your parents' Objections

In Korea, people usually think that international marry is wired, and especially old people who our parents and grandparent disagree with international married. So I am going to persuade my mother about international married.
First, If I married foreigner, I can lean another country's language as my second language. Actually, leaning another country's language is very hard, but I can learn and practice everyday. If I can speak another language, I can get a good job.It is first advantage of international married.
Second, If I married foreigner, I can know another country's culture. I can expand my experience from my partner. Also, I can taste another country's food that I never had before.
Third, my children can choose citizenship of my country or my husband country. My children have opportunity to which country he or she can live. This is also advantage of international married.
I want to say to my parent there is lots of advantage of international married,and I want persuade my parent using those facts that I mentioned before.

I think that this confucius quote means that, we have to enjoy our job. Already mention of this quote "you will have to work a day in your life", it show us to we should think that our job that we have is not a work. We have to think about job again. Moreover, when we try to get a job, we should choose job what we like and can enjoy and love . Actually, it is hard to do it, because many people want to recieve higher salary that we can get.I agree with this quote. Most of people have to get a job for their lives, also this job can effect our live continuely. Job is the most part of our lives, because we have to spend almost time that is our given time. The job is very important, and we spend much more time on work. That's why we have to choose our job that we love and enjoy. If someone has job which he or she doesn't like it, that person can't say " my life is happy". Most life time is spending on job work, so job work can be almost our life time.
I don't have a job yet, but it can apply to my life. If I remine this quote, I can have standard that helps me when I choose a job. When I'll find job whatever I want to, I'm gonna think about this puote. Actually, if I get a job, it can hard to change. When I choose a job, I have to consider which job can makes me happy.
When I studyed in my university, I know one professor who isn't teach students any more. That time, he had a nice job which everybody can envy him, and he received high salary and had honor.However, he couldn't satisfy with his job, because this job made him boring everyday. Before he teach university student, he have had a dream about plants. He complicated between advantage from his job and his dream. Finally,he choose his dream, and he is living in country side and gardening botanic garden. He say that he never regret to give up his job. He feels happy and he can get motivate to live wealty. This story makes me how he is brave and choose a job is important. Because he waste time to be a professor and finally change his mind.Before work as professor time is gone.
My magic job is the job what I want to do. when I choose a job another thing is not important except this fact that I can really enjoy my job and can have satisfy.
If I have a job, I want to enjoy my job and feel happy everyday from my job.

When I was young, my mother always said that, "do everythings yourself". This is my the vest advice which I was ever given. Actually, when I was elementary school, I always asked my mother to do my homework. Therfore, my mother never done do my homework, and instead of do my homework she said like this. If my mother do my homework that time, I still ask my task to other people may be. Moreover, If my room was massy, my mother never clean up my room for me. So, I have to clean my room up myself. Sometimes, I don't follow this advise. But if I think about my mother, I feel like that I have to do by myself. If i don't do by myself, I feel guilty to my mother.

Jounal # 10 : American Food

When I think about American food , I just can remember the food which make with lots of oils. Every American foods are high cholesterol and high fat, so people can easy to get weight.If my friend said, "Let's go eat American", it means that we are going to eat kinds of fast foods which can make very quick. Moreover, hamburgers are not only traditional American food. I think that hotdogs and chips or any kind of fast foods are American food.Actually, I don't like American foods very much,because it doesn't have nutrition that is in the foods. It isn't helpful and healthy. That's why I don't like those are foods. More and more, I never enjoy any of it.Here isn't have Korean food very much, so I just try American foods.

This quote means that It's depend on who is thinking about that. If there are same situation, it can explain differently. Optimist can seeing only good things, pessimist can seeing only bad things. I agree with this quote. When I try to thinking like optimist, there is having easy things. But, when I think like qessimistic, there is hiving only hard things. It can important to in my life, because it can change my attitude. I am a optimistic. If I fail somethings such as exam or test, I never cry, because I still have opportunity which I can pass. When I was high school, she and me met in the class room. This is she and my first meeting. Her's first impression was very bad, so I didn't want to be a friend with her. Actually, she also didn't like me either. One day, we were seat next each other, we started talk and then I felt we are more close than before. Fimally, we are get together each other as a friend.We have different hobby, personality,and food tastes. Sometimes, we are very surprise because we have had many different things.
My hobby is watching movies and shopping. I don't like very active such as playing the sports and doing something which should be outside. However, she likes lots of activity like climbing mountain or jogging. Sometime, she asked me go to witness center ,but I also asked go to shopping instead of exercise.Consequently, we are doing two things in a day because we don't want to argue.
We have different personality. She is a easy going person, but I am not. So,when she try to introduce someone to me, I always refuse her. I am a shy person. She tries to change my personality like her but still can't change.
I like spicy food, but she doesn't spicy food. When we go to restarant, I always choose the food like not spicy foods,because, I can eat both of spicy and not spicy foods, but she can eat only not spicy foods. Thus, if I want to eat spicy foods, I call another friends and hang out that friends without her.
We have very different things, but we are still good friends. Sometimes, I need someone to tell my troubles to, and she can listen to me and keep the secret. Moreover, we understand each other well and we keep a good relationship with her. I think I an really lucky because I have wonderful friend.

Journal #7 : Hearos

If I could have any superpower, I want to have giving back time. The reason is that I regret many times in my life. Of course, I still regret bygone days or acts. For example, If I finish my midterm exam or other exams, I give back time so I got re-test. Also, I give back time, if I fight best friend or boyfriend to do not make the fact of fighting. Surely, if many terrible situation such as car accident, death of friend, and disaster could occurred, I have to give back time. Thus, I live forever because I give back time when I must need. However, I do not much giving back time because my body continue old during giving back time. It is mean that I use my superpower when I and many people must need. However, I do not tell anyone. I keep it a secret because if people who are around me know my superpower, they usually say, "Please give back time for me." and always turn to my superpower. That is, my superpower could be misused. For this reason, I keep my superpower that is giving back time a secret.

There are two situation. First, if animals can talk with human, this society may come chaos because there are no control of animals. Absolutely, animals could talk to human their dissatisfaction such as harassment, hunt, and pollution. Second, between human world and animal world, there are coexistence because humans and animals could know each other well. For example, humans know that how they uncomfortable with in human society, or what they need. Especially, the pets which are raised by humans have advantage because their masters and pets talk and know each other. Therefore, the pets take what they need for their lives. Also, their masters could have comfortable because they require to their pet. If I can talk with animals, I ask what you think about human, what you like or need. Probably, I ask their like friends because between human and animal, there are friendship for long time ago. Most human including me think that animals are our family. Moreover, I ask about freedom. They want to go out and live woods or to keep live in house with master.

Have you ever seen the movie "TITANIC" before?? When I was thirteen, that movie was very famous in the world and my country too. The movie was so great, so I saw that seceral time with my friends. After watching the movie, I couldn't forget the song which in the movie. The song is "My heart will go on" by Celine Dion.That time actually I didn't know about music that sang by English, so I asked my brother and he found that movie from internet for me. Why this song was significant for me is that it could let me learned English. Because of this song, I started focus on the English. I wanted know meaning of song, so I found a dictionary. It was my first time which I touched the English dictionary. After I found the English dctionary, I felt more friendly with English. I couldn't stop studying English, and I still interested in English. The song could effect in my life : from that song, I could like about English.

Journal#4 Weather

My favorite weather is autumn.

Actually, I can't do my activity and work very hard in the summer and winter. In the summer, if I try to do something, I feel lazy and tired even if before start my task. My body is wet from sweat, and I have a feeling that my body was burned by sun. I can't walk too much so I don't want to do exercise any more. It can be bad affect for me. In addition, my skin is getting dark, and I rub sunblock over my face. Moreover in the winter, Because of the cold weather, I don't go to outside. Besides, it has possibility to get a cold, so I have to sice every winter. Sometimes, in my country can see snow, but after snow we need to clean up the ground. If we never clean up, someone can fall down because snow change inte ice. It can dangerous to every people.

On the other hand, the autumn doesn't need to think of all of aboved which I am saying. In the autumn, I can see not only the nice and clear the autumn sky, but also falling leaf. It makes me happy. Autumn is the harvest season, so I feel rich upon seeing abundant crops. Also, autumn tints the mountains with beautiful colors. That's why I want to go on an excursion to watch autumn leaves. Especially, I like the crunching sound of the fallen leaves. If I step on the fallen leaves, it can be exciting for me.

I used to jog in the autumn. The weather is not too hot or cold, so I can enjoy jogging. If i jog in the mornig, I can feel refresh. And I collected the fallen leaves between the page of a book. Furthermore I enjoy the picturesque scenery.If our family have a time each other, we can go picnic together not summer or winter only winter!! I crazy about winter season.

Now alse autumn I think, but why still hot everyday??

Journal#3 Old Fears

When I was 7 years old , my mother and me went to open market . I felt thirsty, so I asked my mother bought me a Coke. And I could get the coke. During my mother shopping , I hold my left hand with my moter and the other one was carrying the Coke. I felt tickle and I touched my arm. Suddenly, I felt to hurt my arm because bee stung me. I think because the Coke. I was crying a lot. I could't remember very detail, but I know that was really hurt. I face my fear and I scare of bee since that time. Now my opinion about bee is I don't want to see the bee during my life any more. If I go to cafe or restaurant, I don't want sit outside because sitting outside is easy to meet a bee. Whenever I go somewhere, I always warry about bee if I see them.
I can't overcome my fear because I still scare of bee . There are no reason to my opinion to the bee. I think that I can't change my mind long time. I hope that I never see the bee wherever I go.
